We were delighted to recently feature on RTE’s Nationwide TV programme, where we chatted about the importance of apprenticeships in our industry.
At DPF Engineering growing our own talent to sustain the future of our business is essential. We take on two apprentices every year and our aim is to progress our talented young people through the programme to fill operational, technical, and managerial positions with the company into the future.
We encourage our apprentices to discover their talents and see what they enjoy doing most. They get to experience every part of the business over the course of the four-year apprenticeship programme. We manufacture high precision tooling, including special purpose tooling, high precision replacement parts, jigs or fixtures for the Aerospace, MedTech and High Tech sectors globally. In order to manufacture to the extremely high quality that our customers expect, we use the latest technology and machinery and have built an experienced team over the past number of years.
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a salary and become qualified while you are learning on-the-job, as well as opening exciting and rewarding career prospects. In year one, apprentices start on a basic rate of pay, and by year four they are on almost qualified rates. Apprenticeships are an NFQ level 6 qualification, which allows individuals to progress to degree programmes at level 7 and higher.
